Welcome to Allerton Primary School

Mrs TurnerWelcome. This website should give you a good idea of what our school is like as well as making communication with everyone as easy as possible. You will be able to find recent newsletters and general information about the running of the school. More importantly, you can find out about the wide range of activities and learning that the children take part in during school. We have a busy and creative curriculum which we hope to share with you via this website.

We truly hope that this tells you all you need to know. If not, please just call and ask. We are proud of our school and stand by our motto ‘Your educational journey starts here’. But don’t simply take our word for it – come and see for yourself. We would be delighted to show you around

Many thanks

Amanda Turner, Headteacher

News & Reminders

Attendance Champions

Our Nursery Wrens have done it again with 99% attendance for this week too; that’s a fabulous achievement! Last week, seven classes had attendance above the national expectation and this week eight classes have: Dippers, Wrens, Robins, Kingfishers, Goldfinches, Peregrines, Kestrels, and Eagles. Keep coming to school!

Our very own Brownlee brothers

During an athletic event at Weelsby Woods, one of our pupils in Year 5 showed great sportsmanship towards another year 5 pupil. Julian forfeited his place in the race to stop and help his friend Riley (who was struggling with a stitch) to the finish line. We are all so proud of you.

Forgiveness

Mrs Dellar came into school to talk about forgiveness. She asked questions to see if we could forgive or not. We didn't always give the one we should have.

World Book Day

We had an amazing array of characters in school yesterday. Some children and staff came in their nightwear with a good bedtime story. There were lots of characters from Frozen and an incredible number of superheroes. I stumbled across paw patrollers, the Toy Story crew, Alice in Wonderland, Fantastic Mr Fox, bad-tempered ladybirds, Little Miss characters, Winnie the Witch, Harry Potter and many more.

Rev John

Rev. Jon came into school to hold an assembly on 'The funny things Vicars wear'. Find out more on our Visitors page.

Sea Cadets

Immingham Sea Cadets came into school to tell us all about the activities that Sea Cadets take part in. Jensen, a former pupil, came in full uniform and with the help of volunteers from our school showed us some of the exciting things that a Sea Cadet would do.

Stranger Danger

PC Jason Sutcliffe came into KS2 to talk about ‘stranger danger’, following an incident in Immingham.

The Golden Mile

The Golden MileThe Barn Owls have now completed an astonishing 907 miles. This now puts them 532 miles ahead of the next nearest class! Our combined total would take us to Toulouse in France already and in the next few days we could reach Turin in Italy!

Well done Barn Owls.

Food Larder

The school councillors visited the food larder in Immingham with left over party food.

Peter Pan

What a treat we had when we returned to school. M and M Productions came into school to perform their rendition of Peter Pan.

The adventure started at home in the nursery and ended in Neverland, tricking Captain Hook to enter the Lagoon of eternal youth (saying the wrong rhyme of course, and becoming very old).

We really enjoyed it and joined in with all the latest tunes they played, not forgetting Mr Brown and Mrs Thornalley being chosen to take part.

Free School Meals and Pupil Premium

Schools are given extra funding for a child who is eligible for free school meals now or has been eligible in the past. This money is an important part of our school budget so if you are entitled to claim or think you are and would like to chat about it, please let us know.
