Welcome to Allerton Primary School

Mrs TurnerWelcome. This website should give you a good idea of what our school is like as well as making communication with everyone as easy as possible. You will be able to find recent newsletters and general information about the running of the school. More importantly, you can find out about the wide range of activities and learning that the children take part in during school. We have a busy and creative curriculum which we hope to share with you via this website.

We truly hope that this tells you all you need to know. If not, please just call and ask. We are proud of our school and stand by our motto ‘Your educational journey starts here’. But don’t simply take our word for it – come and see for yourself. We would be delighted to show you around

Many thanks

Amanda Turner, Headteacher

News & Reminders

St George's Day

Thank you for your generous donations that raised almost £200 for the Help for Heroes charity.

Friends of Allerton/ PTA

If you are around at the start of the school morning on Thursday 30th April, why not stay for a coffee and a chat to see how we can create the Allerton you want for your children. Drinks will be available in the KS1/Infant Hall from 8.45am. Hope to see you there.

Attendance

The highest attending class is the Goldfinches with a 99% attendance. Well done! This term we will have a special class prize for the overall best attending class for the whole of Term 5.

History Day

At the end of term we held a history dress up day and each class dressed up in the time that they had previously done topic work on. I have put together a PPT showing each period in time and added a time travel theme.

Lincoln University

Year 5 went on a tour of Lincoln University. See what they found.

Comic Relief

Thank you for your generosity – you have raised £250.40 for Comic Relief. There were clowns rolling around in assembly, teachers with odd make-up, a mime artist patrolling the corridor and children with their clothes on inside out and back to front! Boys as young as six sprouted moustaches overnight and there were the most unusual hairstyles parading around at break time. Not quite a normal Allerton day!
You can see more pictures from the day on Chaffinch Class page, Kestrel Class page, Marsh Harriers Class page, Starlings Class page and the Sparrowhawks Class page.

Humanutopia Day

Year 5 visited The Oasis Academy, Immingham to take part in a Humanutopia Day. Find out more

Gymnastic Fantastic

Four Year Five girls excelled at the gymnastics competition at the end of last term. They were the smallest team and they came seventh out of twelve, quite an achievement. Niamh won a medal as the top gymnast in all year five and six! Wow! A big well done to our team.

Big Hymn Sing

On Tuesday 10th February 2015, the Year 5 sang their hearts out at Grimsby Minster as part of the Big Hymn Sing. Mrs Gibbs came back with glowing reports of perfectly behaved performers who loved every minute of it.

Free School Meals and Pupil Premium

Schools are given extra funding for a child who is eligible for free school meals now or has been eligible in the past. This money is an important part of our school budget so if you are entitled to claim or think you are and would like to chat about it, please let us know.

Education CityEducationCity

Packed full of educational games and activities, EducationCity.com is the fun way to learn for children. All children at Allerton have their very own login details and can complete homework and activities in school and at home. Click on the EducationCity logo to access the site.
